Generopolis was created for nonprofits. So you can spend more time doing what you do best: serving!
We always knew that nonprofit fundraising was tough, but when we discovered that giving in the U.S. has been stuck at about 2 percent of U.S. GDP for the past 50+ years, we decided we needed to do something to help break through that barrier.
Our research showed that most people want to give more, but simply can’t find room in their budgets. That’s why our solution focuses on empowering people to use their talents, resources and budgets in a creative new way.
At Generopolis, we’re all about inventing the next generation of giving so that together, we can change the world.
With Generopolis, nonprofits receive incredible benefits.
- A powerful new source of funding
- A relevant digital platform on which to identify, cultivate, grow, collaborate with, and thank friends and fans
- Increased exposure and awareness, both on the Generopolis platform and via the social networks where Generopolis listings are circulated
- Coming soon: Advanced analytics to better understand rapidly evolving trends in giving
Generopolis is available to St. Louis nonprofits
Our vision for the future is to offer Generopolis as a fundraising platform for all nonprofits in the U.S. – and even the world! For now, however, we have limited our nonprofit roster to an amount that we can manage with our lean startup staff.
In 2018, we are restricting nonprofit enrollment to those within the St. Louis metro area. If you would like to be considered as a candidate for the platform, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
All nonprofits on our platform are added free of charge, with zero enrollment fee and without a contract of any kind.
To manage our expenses, including Paypal fees and administrative overhead, Generopolis withholds 10 percent of the listing sale price + $.30 per listing. We pass the remainder of the proceeds from each listing to the nonprofit designated by the seller.
Each quarter, Generopolis calculates the cumulative funds raised for each charity and sends a check to their St. Louis metro area office.
Important note: As our community of registered members, small businesses, and nonprofits expands, we have our sights set on ensuring that 100 percent of all proceeds from all listings go directly to their nonprofit beneficiaries.
