True Freebies from the Universal Free Web Portal

It’s about time I put AVG up on Generopolis. I’ve been meaning to do that for about 2 months now. AVG is really one of the best anti-virus, anti-spyware/adware programs out on the free market.
It’s pretty much the full Malware protection that you need. It’s super easy to download, install and run…and it provides ongoing protection to keep your system safe. If you are a newbie and don’t have an anti-virus program running…or are worried because you Norton AV is about to expire: don’t delay! Install AVG as soon as you can. Click the link above and and find the ‘download’ link and get it asap. Don’t worry if Norton is still running. Norton isn’t as good as this freebie and you can uninstall Norton pronto with no loss (by many a gain.)
But there are other options too…such as Avast (my personal favorite). Avast was one of the first 10 programs I posted on Generopolis…it’s an essential item. I’ve run it with a fully updated Norton running on my system and found a bunch of viruses. So obviously, it’s better. Nuff said. I have Avast running on my system and have used it for about 4 years too. It’s top notch as far as scanning goes. The links above offer more detailed reviews and screenshots.
If your system has been infected with a nasty virus or trojan or worm, then Avast offers a VIRUS CLEANER that you can download and use to effectively and quickly clean off your system. It’s your best bet if your system is already sick.
I also like Avast because you can customize the skins and look of the scanner. For example, there’s the Matrix look, Spiderman, or Vista <— for the masochists
And if you want to make sure your system is safe from Key Loggers and people spying on you — or want to stop those annoying pop-ups…then you need Spybot: Search and Destroy. It’s the best free spyware and adware remover and it does everything it’s supposed to and nothing it shouldn’t. PC Mag called it the best Spyware remover, period. Nice. Click the link for a more detailed review and screenshot.
Oh, and just so I don’t seem biased towards Spybot, there’s also Ad-Aware 2008 which is another competent adware removal program. But it won’t tackle the truly nasty stuff like Key Loggers. The link gives a review, screenshot, and like all Generopolis entries…where to download it for free.
