Atani is a free animation program that also allows you to edit .jpg’s and .gifs…but most importantly, it allows you to create animations!  It’s a perfect free program for creating interesting banners for your website.

But some familiarity with these kinds of programs is a  big help — the interface takes some learning if you haven’t used this kind of program before.

Nvu (pronounced Enn-view is a great free program that functions in the same way as Dreamweaver and allows you to build and edit your own websites.  So now you can create your own website…absolutely for free!

I finally did some updates to the Generopolis mainsite…adding Photowham.  Photowham is a completely free program (of course) that allow you to batch resize and batch rename them quickly and easily.

By batch, I mean, you select a group of files in the directory (really handy if you have hundreds of them) and set up Photowham so it resizes/renames them so you don’t have to do it all by hand at a tediously slow pace.

Emeril Lagasse, in case you haven’t heard of him is a famous chef who has his own TV program, writes cookbooks and is also a famous restaurateur (of course.)  He After several appearances on several other FoodTV programs, Lagasse hosted his own show, The Essence of Emeril. “Essence” in the title refers to Emeril’s Essence, the name of a spice blend of his own concoction that he frequently uses in his cooking, and which is commercially available in several flavors. He also often suggested that viewers of his show create their own spice blends that reflect their personal tastes and be unafraid to use them to customize the dishes he would teach.

This is a cool freebie just because I’d never heard of it before.  Basically, it’s a sticker that you put on yourself that tells you when you’ve had enough sun. Then, through the miracle and fun of science, it changes colours!!! Whooo hooo!!

Of course, I think sun exposure is great for you and drastically reduces your chances of getting cancer…but beware of sunscreen as it doesn’t stop the most harmful kind of radiation from the sun…so you can expose yourself much longer, not get burnt, but still get funky skin blotches that grow and consume your body.  But that’s my two cents.  If you don’t want that happening, these stickers are probably a really good idea for you.
